Look Back

Good Morning Girls!  Hmmm.....I have not received any feedback on the "discipline path" I've been blogging about over the last week or so.  It means one of 2 things:  1.  You saw the word discipline,  you logged off, and you have not yet returned, or 2.  You are busy doing what the Lord has instructed and therefore do not have time to respond.  Feel free to let me know which one it is!  I asked the Lord this morning if you all needed something a little "lighter" today.  I asked if I've been "encouraging" you just a little too far past your comfort zone.   Two words came to me.  LOOK BACK.  It seemed a little odd at first. Just yesterday I was telling you all to look up.  Had I missed the mark?  What do you mean look back?  I read through the pages of verses I had written down when I started studying up on discipline, and it came to me.  Look back- look back on when you were first born again.  Look back on how you felt when you asked Jesus into your heart.  Look back at the hope that filled you when you first heard the Good News.  Look back at how Jesus gave you a fresh start, a clean slate, a new life.  Look back at the excitement you had.  Look back at the way you were bold, not afraid to tell others about Jesus, even though you had no clue what to say!  Look back at the way you would have done whatever the Lord told you.  Look back on how hungry you were for His direction.  Look back when your desire to be the person God wanted you to be outweighed the desires of your flesh.  Look back at how your friends and family thought you were talking a little odd, but you didn't care, you just kept on talking about Jesus.  Now look around.  Have you changed?  Are you more on fire for the Lord, or have you become "comfortable" in your Christian life?  Has your childlike faith left you? Are you too "mature" to be giddy about God?  Have you learned too much to believe in miracles?  Spend some time with the Lord today.  Ask Him to bring you back to the early days, when you were first born again.  Ask Him to restore your excitement and your enthusiasm.  Once you feel His precious gift all over again, you will be willing to do whatever it is He is asking of you!

Hebrews 10:32 Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.  Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering

Love you all-
Jen
