Put the Stones Down!
Good Morning Girls! When I was praying this morning I asked the Lord: "Lord, what do you want me to show the Girls this morning? What do they need to hear? Help me show them how you feel about them." I believe with all my heart that women hold a dear and special place in the heart of the Lord. He understands that our trials are different. He understands that when we don't feel loved, we hurt to the point we can hardly function. We were created to give love, and to be loved. I asked Him how to show you all this love He has for us. The response I felt in my heart: "Tell them to put the stones down. They are the only ones throwing them!" This is in reference to the account of the adulterous woman we find in John 8:3-11. In it, the Pharisees bring an adulterous woman before Jesus and ask him how he is going to punish her. In those days the law said that such a woman should be stoned. Well, Jesus hardly acknowledges them until they kept at him. He finally says "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!" Well, one by one they all walked away because they knew they had all sinned. Then Jesus dismisses the woman, assuring her that he doesn't condemn her and tells her to sin no more. I have read and heard this story a hundred times, but that is where it has always ended. Today however, the Lord showed me something more. You see, Jesus said whoever had not sinned could throw the first stone, but nobody did. No one met that stipulation......no one except for Jesus. Jesus is the only one who had never sinned. He had every right to stone her.......but He didn't!!! He didn't! He didn't then, and he will not now. When you go before the Lord with your sin, he will not punish you. He forgives you and it is his hearts request that you "go and sin no more". So Girls, if you are hanging on to past sin, PUT THE STONES DOWN! Go to the Lord, confess them, ask him for forgiveness, and "go and sin no more". He has forgotten them. It is now time for you to do the same!
John 8:10-11 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?" "No Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."
