A Testimony of Waiting
Hey Gals, It's Mel.
I am guest writing today as an expert in the field
of......Waiting! Yes, this is an area where I have plenty of
experience. Sometimes I have waited very patiently, full of peace
and the joy of the Lord, knowing that what the Lord has
spoken to my heart WILL come to pass. Other times I have started out
fine, but as the time lagged on, I questioned if what I was waiting
for was what the Lord really wanted for me - did he really speak that to my
heart? Yet other times I pretty much kicked, screamed, and whined the
whole time, not wanting to wait or be patient at all. I was
like a two year old, "I want it now!"
Today, I have a praise report to share with
you. A waiting success story. The car I was driving stopped working
in April. Jon's parents let us use a car of theirs for a couple
months which was a huge blessing, but we knew that we needed something long
term. Unfortunately, it was not in the budget.
So we started the waiting process. We carpooled. Jon would
drop me off places. It was not convenient, but we did what we had to
do. In April I started to thank the Lord for our van. I thanked
him that someone was going to give us a van - it's worth a try, right? I
just kept confessing that our van was coming, and I would loose the angels
to go forth and get it for us. Now gals, this takes
faith. Especially when my four year old would say, "Mom, where is the
van? When are we getting the van? Today?" I would just smile
at him and say, "The Lord is bringing it honey, it's coming!" Did I
waver at all in this process? Absolutely. But the more I
confessed that our van was on the way, the more I believed it. I
didn't know all of the details or how the Lord was going to do it.
But I did know that we needed a vehicle, and that my Heavenly Daddy
takes good care of me. So yesterday, the title of a van was signed
over to me. It was GIVEN to us by a generous couple from our
church. Praise the Lord! This was a total faith
building experience for me as well as my kids. How cool to
believe for something as a family and then see God do it!
Yeah God! Now, if the Lord would have
chosen to bring a vehicle to us another way (like through a loan from the bank),
would my faith have wavered? I don't think so. I don't always know
how God is going to do it. But I know He will, and that His way is the
best. Press in. Seek Him. Find out what He wants you to
believe Him for today.
And just a quick tip from Billy Brim this past
weekend.
1) Speak out what you are believing
for. (Thank you God for our van.)
2) Tell the devil to get his hands off of
it. (Devil, take your hands off of our van.)
3) Loose the angels to bring it to
you. (Angels, I loose you in the name of Jesus, to go forth
and bring us our van.)
Yeah! I am excited to see what the Lord is
going to bring into your life!
Love,
Mel

It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
It will not be delayed.
