What's Your Plan?
Good Morning Girls! There are many diets out there to follow. Many programs that claim they will produce easy quick results. They even promise long term lasting results. However, you and I both know that is rarely the case. Sure, we all know a few "success stories". People who followed this or that and have managed to keep it off. But have you hung out with them for 48 hours straight and seen how they live....what they eat? I personally do not know anyone who is living on a "diet "that I would care to live by. I just don't. Maybe you do.....but I don't think so....otherwise, why would you be sitting there reading this?
That being said, you do still need to know how to feed your body. You need to know what food it needs, in what amounts, at what times. You also need to know what foods are harmful to your body. Once you know how certain chemicals react to your body, it makes it easier to say no to them. You may still choose to say "yes" from time to time, but you will definitely stop to think before you mindlessly put something in your mouth.
Before you go any further you need to have a plan. You cannot simply say "I am going to eat less". Some of you may already not be eating enough and that is what is causing the problems! You may say "I am cutting out carbs", because that diet lingo has been floating around for years. However, what cutting out carbs means to one person means something totally different to another. You may simply decide you are going to work out more. Let me make this clear....no amount of exercise can undue the damage of improper nutrition........ask me how I know!
I am not here to convince you of any specific plan. I think you should seek it out yourself. I will offer you some advice. If it is tedious, too restrictive, or hard to understand you will find yourself overwhelmed within days and back to feeling frustrated. If you cannot leave the house, go to a restaurant, or have lunch with a friend because you need "special food", you will not want to live on the plan. If you have to eliminate completely certain foods such as fruit, vegetables, all dairy, all meat, that is a red flag. (unless the Lord shows you you are to stay away from certain things, which may very well happen).
If you need help or want suggestions, feel free to e-mail me and I will help. In may not seem like it, but this can actually be fun. Go to Borders, grab a skim latte (with no flavor syrups....especially the sugar free ones), and head over to the "diet" section. Pull off a stack of books and browse through them. There are at least 100 different diet books that promise lasting results.
"How is this fun?" you ask. Well, I did this a while back and what I learned from it was this: most of these books are missing the same thing. They are missing the secret weapon. They are missing......the Lord! The more I realized they were missing the Lord as their source of strength, the more excited I got. There are a few that put God in the middle, and to be honest I can't remember what the food plan was like, so I really have no opinion of them. When you are looking, listen to that small still voice from within. The Lord knows your hearts desire right now. If you ask him for help, and take the time to listen, He will help you.
I believe God will help you because He knows the importance of having a plan. He is the God of plans! He had it all worked out before it even started. He knows and has planned the end from the beginning. He tells us "I know the plans I have for you". Your life is not random. The steps of your life are not random. He has a plan for you.....maybe it's time you start seeking it out, and have a plan for yourself as well. A plan that lines up with the will of God for you. A plan that makes His plan for you easier to unfold. A plan that gets you headed towards your goals. A plan that delivers results. A plan that leaves you feeling strong, energized, and victorious.
Take the time today to determine your plan. Write it out. Ask the Lord if it is right for you. And if you need help, I am only an e-mail away! You can do it!
